Beef Udon
(牛肉うどん)
Ingredients
| Thin-sliced Wagyu Beef | 150g |
| Leek | 40g (About half the leek) |
| Vegetable Oil | ½ Tablespoon |
| Udon | 2 Servings (Roughly 200g, fresh or dried) |
| Water | 700ml |
| Seasoning Mixture | |
| Cooking Sake | 1 Tablespoon |
| Mirin (Sweet Cooking Wine) | 1 Tablespoon |
| Water | 1 Tablespoon |
| Mentsuyu (Soup base) | 1.5 Tablespoons *Dilute with 6 tablespoons of water (1:4 Ratio of Mentsuyu:Water) |
| Pea Sprouts | 10g |
Instructions
Thinly slice the leeks, cut the pea sprouts into 3cm pieces and stir the seasoning ingredients to combine.
In a separate pot, add the diluted Mentsuyu, bringing it to a boil.
Heat up the oil in the frying pan and sear the beef in it. Add in the leeks and cook until softened. Add in the seasoning ingredients and stir to combine.
Cook the Udon noodles for the designated cook time in the instructions.
Add the Udon noodles and the soup to a bowl. Top with the beef and leek stir-fry from Step 3 as well as the pea sprouts and enjoy.
